HER EXCELLENCY AMBASSADOR EUNICE M. T. LUAMBIA, PRESENTED HER CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE WORLD TRADE ORGANISATION (WTO), DR. NGOZI OKONJO-IWEALA.

Her Excellency Ambassador Eunice M. T. Luambia, presented her credentials to the Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Her Excellency Ambassador Eunice M. T. Luambia, Zambia's Ambassador to Switzerland and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Zambia to the United Nations Office and Other International Organisations in Geneva and Vienna, presented her credentials to the Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. The ceremony took place at the WTO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

Ambassador Luambia congratulated Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for being the first female and first African Director General of the WTO, and assured her of Zambia's support. Ambassador Luambia appreciated the WTO's technical and programme support to Zambia over the years under the Aid for Trade initiatives as well as through the facilitation of various training programmes which have enhanced Zambia's capacity to actualize its multilateral commitments. Ambassador Luambia pledged to build on this cooperation in line with Zambia's new economic transformation agenda which is anchored on, among others, trade and investment liberalization in various sectors of the economy as a means towards rebuilding the Zambian economy, delivering jobs and ensuring greater integration into the global economy.

In her remarks, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala congratulated Ambassador Luambia on her appointment as Zambia's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the WTO and wished her success during her tenure. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala indicated that she was happy to support Zambia's implementation of its economic transformation agenda in areas within the mandate of the WTO.
