2023 Zambia International Trade Fair

The Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry exhibited at the 57th Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF) that took place in Ndola from 28th June to 4th July, 2023.

The fair was hosted under the theme, “Stimulating Economic Development through Partnership, Trade and Investment.”

The Ministry exhibited under One Stop Shop with its Statutory Bodies and projects namely Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA), Zambia Development Agency (ZDA), Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS), Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA), Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA), Business Regulatory Review Agency (BRRA), Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), Zambia Agribusiness and Trade Project (ZATP) and Proudly Zambian Campaign (PCZ).

Minister of Small and Medium Enterprise Development, Hon. Elias Mubanga officially flagged off the Trade fair with a march past from Jacaranda Mall to the Fair grounds and lighting of the torch on 28th June, 2023. Hon. Mubanga commended the ZITF Trust for putting together another spectacular Trade Fair and for consistently delivering a world class event.

The flag off was followed by a Business Forum on 29th June, 2023 and officiated by Acting Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Hon. Felix Mutati and this was held at Mukuba Hotel.

The Business Forum, held in line with the ZITF theme, was aimed at promoting business partnerships, trade and investment in order to spur economic development.

Hon. Mutati reiterated that government aspires to deliver a prosperous middle-income economy that offers opportunities for all Zambians of different skills and background, by harnessing opportunities for economic diversification and growth.

He also added that economic diversification offers opportunities to realize additional jobs and benefits from Zambia’s vast endowment of natural and human resources. Zambians, both from rural and urban areas, will benefit from a stronger and diversified economy supported by a strong manufacturing base.

The ZITF was officially opened on 1st July by the Guest of Honor, King Mswati III of eSwatini in the presence of the President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema.

The two Heads of State conducted a Presidential Tour of Stands and also presented certificates and awards to deserving institutions.
